What actually is GPS?

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It’s a network of about 30+ satellites orbiting the Earth at an altitude of roughly 20,000 km. These satellites constantly broadcast signals that allow anyone with a receiver (like your phone) to determine their exact location, velocity, and time.

How does it work?

It's all about timing. Your phone doesn't "talk" to the satellites; it just listens. By measuring the tiny delay between when a signal was sent and when it was received from at least four different satellites, your device can calculate its position through a process called trilateration.

Does GPS require an internet connection?

Yes, GPS require an internet connection. For Data we can use NCELL or NTC M2M Sim Card

How accurate is it?

GPS is accurate to within a 4.9-meter (16-foot) radius under open skies. However, accuracy drops near tall buildings, under heavy tree cover, or in tunnels where the line-of-sight to satellites is blocked.
